Fort McMurray’s headquarters for local laughter

When locals want to enjoy an evening out for laughter or trying out their vocal talent, Bailey’s Pub is the place to do it all.

Situated within the Stonebridge Hotel Stonebridge Hotel at 9713 Hardin Street downtown, the Pub is in the same neighbourhood as many other entertainment venues and eateries including the Boomtown Casino, Peter Pond Mall, Montana’s BBQ & Bar and the Wood Bridge Buffet, which opened up at the former Smitty’s location in the same building of the hotel and pub.

It has a daily promotion list of drink specials and weekly themed-nights of karaoke with Ladies Night Thursdays & Thirsty Thursday Karaoke and Saturday Night Karaoke. They also host Yuk Yuk’s Comedy Tour Yuk Yuk’s Comedy Tour on a regular basis.

The daily food specials are featured throughout the week with $15 fish & chips on Mondays, $19 burger and poutine on Tuesdays, $8 Build Your Own Burger on Thursdays and a $15 steak sandwich on Sundays.

The Pub receives a 4.2 out of 5 ratings on its Facebook page based on the opinion of 98 people.

“Bailey’s is not only a great place for a night out. They are also amazing to work with as an artist and very supportive of our community,” said Erica Moeskau, a local comedian who frequently headlines for its stand-up comedy shows.

The Pub has been partnering with Yuk Yuk’s franchise for several years. Yuk Yuk’s Comedy first launched the tour after the success of its Harbourfront club headquarters opening in the Spring of 1976 in Toronto, Ontario. Today, Yuk Yuk's tours across the nation and has helped put Fort McMurray on the stand-up comedy map.

On May 7, 2016, Yuk Yuk’s honoured their friends in Fort McMurray by hosting a comedy show called We Got Your Back Fort Mac at their comedy club in Calgary and Toronto.

Hosted by Comedian Gerry Dee, star of CBC’s Mr. D, he was joined by comedians Lori Ferguson-Ford, Donovan Deschner, Derek Sweet and Chris Gordon in Calgary. Michelle Shaughnessy, James Cunningham, Steve Patterson and Johnny Gardhouse, as well as author and former NHLer Terry Ryan joined Dee in Toronto. All the proceeds of both shows were donated to Red Cross.

After the Calgary event, Dee posted on his Twitter account Twitter account:

Today, the Pub continues to bring laughter to the community and gives back by hosting fundraisers for local social profits like Some Other Solutions Some Other Solutions, a society for crisis prevention.

The next Yuk Yuk’s Live Comedy event Yuk Yuk’s Live Comedy event takes place on March 8 and 8 with comedians Sean LeComber and Andrew Iwanyk.
